A landlord is a person or entity that owns and rents out property to tenants. In exchange for payment of rent, the landlord is responsible for maintaining the property and ensuring that it is habitable for the tenants. This includes providing necessary repairs and ensuring that the property meets health and safety codes. Landlords can range from individuals who own one rental property to large corporations that own multiple apartment complexes. Regardless of size, a landlord’s primary responsibility is to manage the property and provide a safe and comfortable living space for tenants.
